BOOTS shoppers have been left furious after a “technical issue” with its online checkout meant they couldn’t get their hands on its popular No7 advent calendar.

The calendar goes on sale tomorrow, but a waiting list of more than 88,000 people eager to get their hands on it, were allowed early access today.

Shoppers have been unable to buy Boots’ No7 advent calendar after its website suffered technical problems

The brand promises products worth £177 for £42, with a range of 25 “make-up must-haves, skin saviours and hero beauty products” inside.

But Boots posted on its Facebook and Twitter accounts this morning to say there had been a “technical issue with our checkout this morning” and that it was “working as hard as we can to fix it”.

Angry shoppers have been venting their disappointment at not being able to get hold of the beauty calendar for most of today.

Some said they had been trying to buy the calendar since 8am this morning.

Carrie tweeted that she spent 90 minutes trying to get hold of the calendar and had been kicked out of the payment system three times.

Another shopper, Susie tweeted to say that she’d got the calendar in her basket but couldn’t checkout.

Others are unsure if their orders have been processed.

Meanwhile, Kerry wrote on Twitter that her daughter “had her heart set” on the calendar and that she’d keep trying to buy it online.

Eagle-eyed shoppers have also spotted what appears to be the 2018 calendar being sold on eBay for up to £120.

Shoppers have complained on Facebook of not being able to get Boots’ No. 7 calendar

As of 5.40pm this evening, Boots told The Sun the technical problem had been resolved and that people who had successfully ordered the calendar would receive confirmation emails.

A spokesperson for the retailer said: “Our fabulous No7 Advent Calendar arrived online on early this morning and since then we have seen unprecedented levels of demand.

“Unfortunately this meant that some customers experienced problems with paying for their order. We’re really sorry for any inconvenience caused, and have been working very, very hard with our payment provider to sort this out.

“We’re delighted to say that customers are now able purchase this limited edition No7 Advent calendar from or in store from tomorrow [while stocks last].”
