Stacey Solomon confirms return to X Factor in major move after call from Simon Cowell
Stacey Solomon, 30, reached third place when she competed in The X Factor back in 2009, behind Olly Murs and winner Joe McElderry.The Essex-native went on to release a debut album, Shy, and won I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2010.Stacey is now best known for being a panelist on Loose Women.But the mother-of-three, who has released a new collection with Primark, will be making a return to The X Factor very soon.
Stacey confirmed to Express.co.uk she will be in the new special series, X Factor: All Stars, in some kind of capacity after receiving a phone call from Simon Cowell.The singer said she “doesn’t fancy competing” but “definitely” wants to be involved in some way.Stacey commented: “He [Simon Cowell] did get in touch, so I would definitely support X Factor in any way that I can.”She continued: “I don’t fancy competing, I was nervous back then, I don’t know how I would be 10 years later!“But I want to support the show because I love it.”Stacey acknowledged she wouldn’t be where she was without her success on the ITV competition.
“It’s the only reason I’m doing what I’m doing today so without that I wouldn’t even be able to be here,” she said.“So yeah, I definitely want to do something with it.”X Factor: All Stars will see winners and finalists from past X Factor shows battle it out to be crowned the ultimate champion.A group of them will perform each week and then a singer from every episode will get through to the final, to battle it out.The new series, which will run a similar format to Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions, will most likely air after X Factor: Celebrity.Stars rumoured to be competing include Leona Lewis, Alexandra Burke, Shayne Ward, Jedward and James Arthur.
Meanwhile, Stacey launched her second clothing range with Primark yesterday and she admitted having gone through the process and seeing the final product in stores “didn't feel real”.“I went into the store and all the staff were wearing it,” she excitedly revealed.“It’s the best feeling in the world because you feel like you put your heart and soul into something and there’s been times when I’ve not slept because of it!”She continued: “Then when you see people wearing it and enjoying wearing it, it’s just like the biggest compliment!”Stacey Solomon's Primark collection is out now.
