Man Utd told to call Matthijs de Ligt before making final Harry Maguire transfer decision

The Red Devils are believed to be deciding whether to ahead with a move for Maguire, after having their initial £70million rejected.Leicester have told Manchester United chiefs they can clinch the deal, but only if they meet their £90m valuation.Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol has urged United to get give Mino Raiola another call, before going ahead with the Maguire deal.“One point I would make was that if I was at Manchester United now, I would be seeing what was happening with Matthijs de Ligt,” he told Sky Sports News Transfer Centre.

United were thought to be in the race for De Ligt before reports stated they’d withdrawn their interest over concerns over his father’s weight.Other speculation suggested the Dutchman was not interested in a move to Old Trafford.It now looks as if he could seal a move to Juventus, beating Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona to his signature.United are now believed to be deciding whether to pay the extra £20m to secure the signing of Maguire.West Ham’s Issa Diop has been earmarked as a cheaper alternative, should they decide against a move for their number one defensive target.
