Match of the Day could be delayed due to a Brexit vote in the House of Commons. The weekly football highlights show is due to go on air at 10.35pm after BBC Weekend News. The main lead on tonight’s bulletin will be the result of the today’s ongoings in the House of Commons. For the first time in 37 years MPs have taken to Westminster on a Saturday, voting on Boris Johnson’s Brexit deal.

But the results from the House of Commons may not be finalised until late this evening. If that is the case, the news could run over its planned slot, which is from 10.10pm to 10.35pm.Match of the Day would then be delayed as a consequence and host Gary Lineker alerted viewers to that possibility in the afternoon.“Hearing @BBCMOTD might be delayed by Brexit tonight,” the presenter tweeted.

“Whatever happens we’ll remain on @BBCOne.”MOTD will have eight fixtures on a stacked show following the international break.Manchester City take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park looking to close the gap on Liverpool while Chelsea faced Newcastle at home.Tottenham faced bottom-side Watford in north London and five other games fill the billing on MOTD.
