The jackpot prize is the largest to ever have been won throughout the lottery's history.More than 5,500 millionaires and multimillionaires have been created since the launch of the National Lottery in 1994.The prize pot stands at more than £71 billion to date.The current record holders for the biggest ever lottery win are Colin and Chris Weir from Largs in North Ayrshire, Scotland, who won £161 million in 2011.

National Lottery operator Camelot have said there have been four UK jackpot winners in 2019, who between them won £350 million.In June, one anonymous ticket holder became the UK's third-biggest ever winner after scooping a £123 million jackpot.Another winning pair was Adrian and Gillian Bayford, from Suffolk,who took home more than £148 million in August 2012.After today's win, said in a statement: "There was only one ticket from all nine participating countries that matched the full winning line to snag the jackpot.

"It was quickly announced that the winning entry was sold in the UK, and the wait will now begin for the player to come forward and claim their money."They will also have to decide whether to go public or stay anonymous."The UK has now had 79 jackpot winners since EuroMillions launched in 2004, and the latest success is one of the largest in the country's history."At the same time, an Irish player in Dublin won €500,000 in the EuroMillions Plus Draw according to Dublin Live.
