Portadown woman convicted for benefit fraud

A woman was convicted at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court today for claiming over £15,000 in benefits she was not entitled to.

Laura Keegan (28) of St. John’s Wood, Portadown, claimed Employment and Support Allowance totalling £15,631 while failing to declare employment. She was fined £1000 and given a £15 offender levy. The fraud was uncovered following an investigation by the Department for Communities.

All wrongfully obtained money has been repaid to the Department for Communities.
