European Research Group leader Jacob Rees-Mogg argued Boris Johnson was showing he was working tirelessly to get a Brexit deal. He noted that Mr Johnson was showing his "gold and purified" attitude towards delivering Brexit. While speaking to TalkRadio’s Julia Hartley-Brewer Mr Rees-Mogg added the Prime Minister was showing his true colours in his handling of Brexit, claiming that colour was gold.

The Talk Radio host said: “There are some people who say that we also see the colour of Boris Johnson’s money.“There are many or fear that actually he doesn’t want a deal.“Particularly the use of his language, it will go down well in the conference hall.“This 'final offer, take it or leave it attitude' but it is not going to go down very well with the European Commission.JUST IN: ERG’s Mark Francois shuts down BBC host in fiery Brexit clash

“This isn’t the type of language that is going to perhaps bring them onboard.“Many people are saying this is a deal that is designed to fail.”Mr Rees Mogg replied: “I think the colour of Boris Johnson’s money is gold.“It is the finest and purified gold you could hope to see.

“I think this will be a really serious offer.“It will be an opportunity to get everybody in the position that they said they want to be in.“I think Boris Johnson is deeply committed to a deal and that is what he has been working so hard to achieve.”READ MORE'All mouth and no trousers!' Earlier in the interview, the Cabinet Minister also called the bluff of Remainers and their attitude towards Brexit and no deal.He said: “What will really matter will be is do we face the choice of this deal and voting it through or do we leave without a deal.“There are many people who have been jumping up and down saying the worst thing in the world is a no deal Brexit.“They will then have to face a choice, is that really what they believed or as some suspect posturing to try and stop Brexit altogether.”
